Our Programs 

What We Offer
In My Shoes began on the idea of our One-On-One Mentoring program. Although we are able to serve over 20 youth per year in this program, recruitment is severely specialized, since all of our mentors are alumni of the foster care system. Through listening to our constituents and understanding their sense of urgency, we have developed two other unique programs to help serve our youth and our community. Through our Group Mentoring and Events, we are able to serve an additional 800 youth per year through direct and indirect services.

To gather as alumni of the foster care system and being able to experience being in a room with other alumni and having, for the first time, a sense of normalcy, feels empowering as individuals and a group. We wanted to re-create that atmosphere for our youth through our group mentoring program. Our Group Mentoring program offers youth to enjoy that experience of normalcy in a safe environment, while growing and strengthening their sense of individuality through natural mentorship relationships. Through our group mentoring program, we are able to serve over 250 youth annually.

Recognizing the importance of relationships, good childhood memories and the need to be a part of a family, lead us to develop our third program. Our Events program we offer four events which benefits over 550 youth per year.
