Annual Awareness and Celebration Event 
In My Shoes recognizes July 2003 as the official launch of In My Shoes after being awarded its first grant by Every Voice In Action. Each year in August, we celebrate our organizations annivarsary by recognizing and celebrating those whom have made the success of our organization possible!

The In My Shoes Board of Directors work diligently to make each year's event memorable to those who attend. Together, we celebrate our youth, mentors, club facilitators, advisory board members, and our allies of foster care. Although each year has a unique theme, In My Shoes always ensures pictures and memory keepsakes are encorporated into every aspect of the event.

Having access to healthy, happy childhood memories is important to In My Shoes because we recognize that for many youth and alumni in and from foster care, often grow up with little to no pictures or keepsakes of their childhood.

In My Shoes also takes this time to recognize our youth and alumni whom have achieved educational success that year. Due to a tramatic loss of family structure, lack of educational foundations, and multiple transitions, the educational outcomes for young people exiting foster care are staggering. In My Shoes understands the enormous educational challenges our youth and alumni face and recognizes their commitment, must make to accomplish their educational goals. The recognition also helps to enspire others to continue their committment towards acheiving their educational goals.
