About Us

Who We Are
In My Shoes is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to ensure that young people experiencing out-of-home care will be supported through their transitional years to develop the competencies to realize their potential as adults. We were created by alumni of foster care and our closest allies in the child welfare system.

Our staff, mentors, and club facilitators are all adults who were once raised in the foster care system and are committed to improving the lives of our brothers and sisters of foster care.  We serve our mission and reach our goals by offering one-on-one mentoring, group mentoring, events, and through public awareness.

We believe in the expertise our youth and mentors have from their personal experience both in and out of foster care, they truly are "Strong! Resilient! Amazing!" individuals!
